Lan And Wireless Connection At The Same Time

Wi-Fi or WiFi, on the other hand, is basically a technology that allows the electronic devices to connect to a completely wireless LAN (or WLAN) network, which mainly uses the 2.4 gigahertz or 12 cm UHF and 5 gigahertz which is equivalent to 6 cm SHF ISM radio bands. A WLAN is basically password protected, but may be kept open, which allows any kind of device within its range to access the. Can I use LAN (with proxy settings) and wireless connection (without proxy settings) at the same time? I'm using a laptop at work connected to company's network (with firewall and proxy enabled). I cannot go onto sites such as gmail, mail.yahoo, etc.

Hi All,I have a Thinkpad T430s as my work computer and I use Access Connections on the laptop so when it is docked it switches to LAN instead of Wireless. This is essential as we have a limited number of IP addresses and this prevents all of our Laptops using two IP's which saves about 20 IP addresses! My current profile uses the 'best available network' option with LAN set as the priority which means as soon as I need to go mobile I eject my laptop from the dock and it switches to wireless without me needing to think about it (Thumbs up!)My problem is I need to configure a router on a factory IP and I need to do it along side my normal work as I cant afford to be offline for more then an hour. In the old days I would switch to wireless then configure my LAN to a static IP and be on my merry way! However with access connections I cannot do this, I've tried to configure a new profile for this situation but I am unable to select both network connections at the same time. Does anyone know if this is possible in access connections?I really want to avoid switching to let Windows configure my networks! User532360 wrote:Mike, did you downgrade to version 5.95?

I have version 6.11 and cannot use both LAN and WLAN at the same time.I too need to physically connect to a devise on one domain than have the vendor remote into my laptop over the wireless which is on a different domainI did! But not with any success. If i'm honest I needed to wipe my laptop to test Windows 8 in our business environment so I just went ahead and did that.

Now its running windows 8 I've not bothered with Access Connections (more hassle then its worth) but it seems Micro$oft have finally got round to putting in some useful tweaks as the laptop automatically switches between connections and it is simply a case of clicking one and selecting connect if you want both!I know its not a fix for everybody!
